Day 01 : Arrive Cochin
Assistance and transfer to the hotel.
Check-in time is 12 Noon.

Day 02 : Cochin
Morning sightseeing tour.
Cochin, Kerala’s commercial centre, it has a fine natural harbour. Cochin(Kochi) gateway for Kerala is famous for Mattanchery Palace, St. Francis Church, Wellington Island, Bolghatty Island, Chinese Fishing nets and Jewish Synagogue. Cruising on the back-waters provides glimpses of the rural life, fine view of the harbour and three islands.
Afternoon at leisure.

Day 03 : Cochin-Munnar, 125 km
Morning drive to Munnar.
Largely blanketed by tea plantations, this little hill resort offers breath-taking scenerely. Situated at an altitude of 1525 metres, this town has a local bracing climate. The atmosphere is fragrant with extensive tea and cardamom plantations. There are enchanting high ranges, lakes and streams and lovely views of low flying clouds and mist filled valleys.

Day 04 : Munnar-Periyar drive, 100 km
Drive to Periyar and on arrival, check-in at the hotel.
Periyar, spread over an area of 777 sq km, this sanctuary has about 35 tigers and leopards. However, sighting a tiger in Periyar is a fortune for one out of thousand. The park encompasses a 26 sq km artificial lake and is the home of sambars, wild boars, elephants and antelopes which can be occasionally seen on the banks of the river during a boat cruise. Periyar, otherwise, blessed by Nature has enormous tea, coffee, pepper and cardamom plantations and is lush green.

Day 05 : Periyar-Kumarakom, 136 km (via Kottayam)
Drive to Kumarakom via Kottayam.
Kottayam, 64 kms from Cochin, it is another commercial centre of Kerala. Dotted with churches and covered with rubber plantations, Kottayam is just 16 km away from Kumarakom and Vembanand Lake. To the city’s west are delightful backwaters and to its east is the most fertile and scenic part of the Western Ghats having rubber, tea, coffee, pepper and cardamom plantations.
On arrival, transfer by ferry to backwater Resort.
Rest of the day free.

Day 06 : Embark on Houseboat
Morning at leisure.
Check In – 12.30 Noon – Kumarakom - Start crusing through Vembanad Lake reach R Block, C Block where paddy is cultivated below sea level. 1.30 – Anchor for lunch at Charukayal 2.30 – Start cruising to reach Kainakary and visit Chavara Bhavan 400 years old wooden house and village walk. After visit and walk, cruising through small canals to reach Vembanad Lake for sunset. Anchor for the night by 6 PM.
Night stay on Houseboat.

Day 07 : Arrive Alleppey /Varkala
Next day morning cruising through SNDP canal, Kuppappuram, Vilakkumaram thodu to reach jetty. Check out by 9.30 AM Alappuzha, also known as Alleppey, a town with picturesque canals, backwaters and lagoons, it was described as the "Venice of the East" by Lord Curzon [1]. History says Alappuzha had trade relations with ancient Greece and Rome in B.C and in the Middle Ages. Apart from the boat trips through the town’s many canals and lakes, and the Mullackal Bhagavathi Temple in the heart of town, Alleppey offers glimpses of the coir manufacturing process-from the coconut husk tot the final rope/coir yarn stage. There are also several shops selling coir matting and carpets, often at prices cheaper than elsewhere.
On arrival, drive to Varkala, check-in at the resort.

Day 08 : Varkala-Quilon-Kovalam
Morning proceed to Quilon (also known as Kollam), a short drive.
To the north of Trivandrum, comes the district of Kollam. Considered as the gateway to the backwaters of Kerala, the district takes the credit for being the hub of the country’s cashew trading and processing industry. The district is a leading center for fishing in Kerala and is home to the largest fresh water lake in Kerala – Sasthamcottah.

Kollam, the erstwhile Desinganadu, had a sustained commercial reputation from the days of the Phoenicians and the Romans. Fed by the Chinese trade, it was regarded by Ibn Batuta, as one of the five chief ports, which he had seen in the course of his travels during a period of twenty four years, in the 14th Century.  The rulers of Kollam (Desinganadu) and China, exchanged embassies and there was a flourishing Chinese settlement at Kollam. Merchant Sulaiman of Siraf in Persia (9th Century) found Kollam to be the only port in India, touched by the huge Chinese junks, on his way from Canton to Persian Gulf. Marco Polo, the great Venician traveller, who was in Chinese Service under Kublahan in 1275, visited Kollam and other towns on the west coast, in his capacity as a Chinese mandarin.
Thereafter, proceed to Kovalam, 2 hours
Overnight at Beach resort.

Day 09 : Kovalam Half day sightseeing tour of Trivandrum.
The capital of Kerala, built over seven forested hills.
Padmanabhaswamy Temple, a seven storeyed stone structure is the most impressive landmark. This temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu contains several inscriptions and excellent murals, innumerable intricate stone carvings adorn the temple. Napier Museum of Arts and Crafts completed in 1880, it was an early experiment in what became known as the Indo Saracenic style. It house a priceless collection which includes 15th century wood carvings of Kerala, Gold necklaces and belts, ivory work, a carved temple chariot and wooden models of the famous temples of Kerala and 14th century Vijayanagar bronzes. Sri Chitra Art Gallery has collection of splendid paintings from the Rajput, Moghul and Tanjore school, as well as China, Tibet and Japan. The most impressive of all is beautiful treatment of Hindu mythological theme in the oil paintings of Raja Ravei Verma exhibited area.

Day 10 : Trivandrum-DEP.
Transfer to Trivandrum airport in time for onward flight.
